Once again, I was digging through the crates and came across another gem from my past. Below is a REMIX of the Lil Wayne & Lloyd joint “I Want U”, featuring two classic verses from yours truly (under my original rap name, DJ AJ, of course). I was actually surprised at how good it sounded, seeing as back then I used to record everything on my pc.

So, I was listening to the Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg Show on Hot 97 (like I do every morning), and they were having sort of a hunger drive to raise money for charity. People could give any amount they saw fit, but for donations of $100 or more they were allowed to have any one song of their choosing played. I immediately saw this as an opportunity and seized it, and after borrowing my bosses’ credit card and being extorted by Ciph for 50 more bucks (lol), I was allowed MY moment. For $150, I would freestyle my own material on Hot 97. During my favorite morning show. On my FAVORITE station. If there was ever a day I believed in luck, today was that day.

Yes, it’s true. “Life With AJ“, a show I originally made to make use of all the random videos on my hard drive, will cease to exist. At least in the format we’ve all come to know.

My true vision of the show is an experience that’s both a reflection of my progression AND wildy entertaining, not just a sloppily edited compilation of video clips.

I love you guys, and appreciate all your patience while I make the changes necessary to bring you a quality product. In the meantime, I’d like you to take notice of all the changes we make to the site in the coming weeks.

Thanks again for being there every step of the way while we do all that we can to be a problem for these haters. STAY HIP HOP, kids!!
